Last month I bought a Panzer Arms BP-12 from Classic Firearms.
They were great; fast, cheap, and no surprises.

I'm glad you posted this. I get blamed so often for the enabling! Can't imagine why.

I got the email too. Look at it for about 2 seconds and deleted it. The temptation went away!

Man, if I give it some more thought I might just spring for another one. Get a left handed holster for my gunbelt and run a double rig. Two ivory handled cowboy revolvers on each hip!!?? I'm gettin' little misty eyed (or something) just thinking out it!

A few months ago I was at one of my LGS and asked if they had the steel framed Rough Rider, that is supposed to be a separate, more expensive model. He said yes, they had that new model, but then he pulled out a number of the older models. He showed me with a magnet, that many of the older models were now steel framed. He said he did not know what was going on with Heritage but many of the same models were now coming in steel frames. He said they were the same model numbers but the only way to tell was with a magnet. He said if he were looking for a Heritage .22, he would carry a magnet and check before buying.

Then yesterday I was in another LGS and he showed me a new birdshead 4.5" barreled .22 convertible he had just got in. It was a nice pistol but I noticed it was heavier than I remembered them being and sure enough, it was a steel frame.

I am wondering if this is Heritage's answer to the new Rugers, as it seems they are filling in some of their older lines were steel frames.

Battle of Wanat: 10 years ago last 13 July, 1LT Brostram was killed in combat killing the last enemy combatant in the outpost. The LT went to the point of decision and made the difference that turned the tide of the battle. The original investigation found the Bde Cmdr, the Bn Cmdr and the Co Cmdr at fault for dereliction of duty. If you want to see what a sarcastic silver star citation reads like, pull up the company commander's silver star.

I may be wrong but I believe heritage identifies a steel framed RR in the serial number.....

The alloy models have internal parts and screws and a magnet will pick them up making you think it's a steel frame.

No, that Heritage Birdshead was just plain heavy, about on par with a Ruger Bearcat.
