    A price I liked!

Well I broke down and bought one. This is funny too. I was at Vance Outdoors, in Hebron, OH, and seen they had Rough Riders on sale. $109.99 and Ruger Wrangler $179.99.

They had most of the varieties in both and I looked them over. I thinking, ... meh, nothing to really satisfy me, and then I looked at the RR Birds head grips. They had would and several different pearl versions at $219.99. all of these were the .22/.22 Mag combo's. I then spotted one on sale, a black pearl grip version with 4-5/8" barrel combo for $129.99. I had to ask if that was real and the counter person said yes. I looked it over and told him I wanted it. I fill out the paperwork and eventually went to the courtesy desk to pay for it. It rang up $189.99. I told the cashier that it was marked with a tag at $129.99. She went to the gun counter to check.

So here is what happened, the $129.99 sale was only for a few days, and ended on the 20th for the black pearl model. However, the sale tag was never removed. The manager honored the $129.99 price as their mistake.

So I think I did good. Unfortunately, they corrected the tag on the display model.

That's a fantastic price for the birdshead model. If for some reason you want to get the standard grips, you can get all the parts to do the conversion through Heritage or other places. Maybe 80 bucks with matching grips.
