Ron Paul‏@RonPaulAs a veteran, I certainly recognize that this weekend's violence and killing of Chris Kyle were a tragic and sad... http://on.fb.me/14NztZ8

I have always thought that Ron Paul has some good ideas, especially regarding our fiscal policy. However, I have always doubted Ron Paul as a "complete package" as far as leadership goes. My concerns have been validated. It was a very insensitive statement made by a man who does not know all the circumstances of the situation. He missed a grand opportunity to keep his mouth shut (or rather, his fingers off the keyboard).

I am one of the few who would have had a hard time voting for Ron Paul due to his views on foreign policy. But if he made the 1st tweet it shows he has no feelings and compassion. Randy

Does he mean that ALL veterans are to "die by the sword"

Don't like him any way, but, this to me shows a total lack of respect, and a total lack of knowledge.

And knowing how Paul feels about the Military, I'm not convinced he didn't choose his words carefully.

And if he wanted to be president, and by virtue of that office, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, he should have kept his opinion to himself, or couched it in less harsh language. Again, my opinion.

I was so chagrined earlier that I dared not post my feelings about Mr. Paul's inappropriate remarks.

Those of you whom I have quoted in my post have shared, very clearly and concisely, exactly how I feel about this man's pompous opinion; and I appreciate you all for doing so.

I guess I just don't see what the outrage is about. Everything he said is an opinion first off and secondly I tend to agree with him if what he meant by living by the sword was that it was probably a bad idea to take someone in a bad mental state shooting. Living by the sword meaning that he chooses shooting as the form of therapy when it was related activities that messed the "patient" up in the first place. How its a slam to anyone in or former military doesn't make any sense. That's how I took it anyway.

here is a link where they talk about "Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PET) is one of the leading ways to treat PTSD, as one commenter pointed out to Paul. It's even endorsed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. They call it "one of the most effective treatments" of PTSD."

This is just a short twitter post right? Not a completely thought out and written article?

If this is a complete article I would say it is cold and lacking compassion.

If this is just a small twitter post, then, as part of a larger complete thought, I had the same thought only I worded it "SOME people with PTSD should never be on a firing range ever again"

I did not think about the "live by the sword" thing.

Regardless of the content of the tweet, the twit continues to illustrate how/why he WAS, IS & ALWAYS WILL BE unfit to be POTUS, and his legacy will be the irrelevant runner up to William Jennings Bryan. Many Thanks to the OP, because some of these posts show how deep in the kool-ade so many of the straws go.
