47 guns????? Sheen has them, but do YOU have 47 favorites?

The only interesting thing about the Charlie Sheen mess has been the fact that he apparently has registered 47 guns. 47!!!!! So I got to thinking, if I had that much money, what 47 guns would I buy?

(No, please don't list your fav 47, otherwise this thread will be a mile long.) (If you already have 47, you can brag on it.)

It occurred to me that while I own far less than 47 guns, I probably have owned a verly large number of guns over the years - - - - - I just steadily trade them away for new ones when the whim strikes me. (Don't know if it's 47, but it may be pretty close. I like to trade.) But that means, of course, that I didn't want them badly enough to keep them in the first-place.

So the question is, given that you had unlimited money, could you come up with a list of 47 guns that you would actually USE? (Like take 'em to the range once a year or so?) For example, It wuld be fun to have a .416 Rigby, but the cartridges cost $5 each. And unlikely I'd find any water buffalo in Texas.

I could, if I made $2 million a show, and I could shoot all of them, if I made a indoor private firing range with that $2 million a show.

Plus I'd have all the porn stars and hookers help to shoot them.

Well, I have 20 long guns and 25 handguns, so all's I need is 2 more to tie Sheen, but his likely cost more. I'm betting he doesn't have stuff like a Phoenix Arms HP22 or a Charter Arms Explorer 2 or a Ramline exactor. ROFL! I DO have some nice guns, just sayin', if I had Sheens money, I'd have a collection of English SxS double rifles and shotguns, maybe some original 19th century sharps and winchesters and colts, oh, a little of this and that and it'd probably go well north of 47 firearms. Of course, they would NOT be registered. And, of course, if I had Sheen's money, I could afford more guns 'cause I wouldn't be spending 10K a week on drugs.

I imagine a lot of Sheen's guns are classic engraved guns, show peices, I have only ever owned one Bar-B-Que handgun, and an ex-wife ran off with it 35 years ago.

I would like to have one nicely engraved Bar-b-que gun, and beyond that, just good clasic shooters.

I would like a Browning Diana Grade side by side, Maybe a John Wayne commemorative model 94, but basicly, I want shooters.

A friend of mine has a gold plated Thompson 45 (semi) Tommy Gun I had to put on white gloves to handle. He paid $5,000 for it....it does absolutely nothing for me.

My brother only counts his arsenal when he moves. He can't tell you how many he has on a given day. I own three longs and 16 handguns. Still collecting. Have a wife who understands and accepts addiction.

Mr. Sheen is a rank amateur among my friends and I. Of course, we've been collecting on an average of 55 years each. Some of what he has are curios & relics.

Re: 47 guns????? Sheen has them, but do YOU have 47 favorites?

I think I might have a hard time limiting my gun wish list to 47 . The unfortunate reality is that I wouldn't be able to give all of them the attention they so rightfully deserve. The first firearms I received were left to my from my grandfather when I was sixteen, A Marlin Model 60, and a Remington Model II. He was very clear that the only reason they were being left with me is because he knew they would have life and not die in a closet somewhere. So from then till now I have treated those two and every other firearm I have acquired as he saw fit.

Well, I've got the BBQ gun covered with my engraved, stag gripped .45 Colt stainless Blackhawk, but I'd really like a few more.
