    Online ammo hunt

I'm a bit short of 30-30 ammo, so when I went to my LGS yesterday I checked the ammo sales shelves. Oops - all gone. Ditto with local suppliers.

So, I checked my normal online ammo sources. Oops - all gone. (I'm starting to see a pattern here.)

This morning, just for grins 'n chuckles, I checked an online seller that is named for being "less expensive that soil" and found Nosler 30-30 Winchester Ammunition 20 rounds, 150 grains (in stock) - $29.89.

Identical ammo, 20 rounds (again, in stock), but a different source found via WikiArms - $12.59.

That must be some expensive soil under their foundation.

Moral of this little tale: Don't run short of ammo. (Betcha thought I was gonna say, "Shop around." Y'all already know that. This is just a "my bad" story.)

I imagine you have seen it but there is a thread about that source you reference. It's scary how brazened they are with their pricing when these events occur. When I got started with guns I bought a fair amount of stuff from them. Once they did their crazy pricing I quit buying from them. Thing is 2 or 3 years from now many people will have forgotten this episode and will buy from them again.

I don't think I've ever bought from the potting soil seller. Their "dirt" came from the wrong end of a steer. I will always steer clear.

That's the deal people are buying guns and are lucky if they get 1 box of ammo.

If it goes south that one box isn't going to last that long!

They may have changed their mind about guns but if its empty it's just a $500 brick! Good luck boys!

I was lucky and got an order in for 44 special brass cases from Midway before anything happened. Now I'm seeing they're shipping is backed up like everyone else's.

Ordered my usual 1000 rounds of 9mm from Sportsman's Guide a week ago......

    .......nope....on back-order.

Went to the local Rural King this afternoon, and they had only THREE BOXES of bulk 9mm left on the shelf. I snagged them all......

....while waiting in line to fill out the form on an AR15 lower, I got to talking to a fellow shooter that had come in for the same reason as me......to grab up TARGET ammo.....because we love to shoot.

He had an arm-full of cheap .223 and mentioned that he was also looking for 9mm. Since I already have an obscene amount of 9mm at home already, I handed him one of my boxes. You would have thought I had handed him my first-born son!

    He was happy.....I was happy......and we hugged it out........Wuhan Virus style........via fist-bump.

Add two rolls of TP and you could trade for a Gulfstream VI. Sure, it'll probably be used, but still!
