    Thumbs up Christmas Present

I have been looking for a special set of grips for one of my favorite handguns for about 5 or 6 months. I found some that were close but not exactly what I wanted. My wife searched on line until she found a grip maker that specialized in the grips I wanted.

She contacted the man and explained what she wanted to do but didn't know what to order. He was a nice guy and gave her a price that would cover whatever I wanted and told her if I didn't use all the options he would refund to her the balance of what she sent him.

Well, I was very surprised when I got that little box for Christmas! I called him the day after Christmas and we spoke for at least an hour about what I wanted. He said it would be 4 to 6 weeks to get them done. I didn't want all the options so in the box with the grips was a check for $70.00!

They are just what I pictured and I think they came out great!

The gun is a Colt Gold Cup Trophy and the grips are American Elk...

I see gun control as waiting in an ambulance at the bottom of a cliff when we should be building a fence at the top!

Gorgeous. That's an excellent price for such fine-looking custom-made grips too!

Agreed - gorgeous final product; a very high mirrored polish! Any story behind the mag release button? Looks like it levers over the top of the left grip . ..
