Hoppe's Elite works great and it doesn't stink up the house plus it's biodegradable. I will use brake cleaner for the inners when things look really dirty. It power washes and dries residue free. Motorkote is my oil of choice.

    Ballistol.

It smells absolutely disgusting, but it cleans off some of the most stubborn build-up in short order.

I also really like Frog Lube CLP, but it's less good for cleaning and better for lubrication. If only Ballistol could have the same minty fresh scent as Frog Lube, or Frog Lube the amazing cleansing power of Selsun Blu-err...I mean Ballistol, then that would be the perfect CLP.

Hornady One Shot cleaner, conditioner and lubricant. NOT to be confused with One Shot Case Lube.

I've heard that Ballistol has a pretty "ripe" odor several times. Although, the Clenzoil I just purchased supposedly has the identical smell.

BTW, I use Frog Lube lubricant and love it. It doesn't seem to attract dirt and powder residue like some other lubes.

I gave up on the usual toxic stuff. I got tired of breathing the fumes. I've probably absorbed a gallon of Hoppes over the years through my skin. I use the Gun-Werkz products. They work every bit as well, and have very little odor. What odor they do have is minty.
