My first .22 handgun was a cheap Pot Metal RG, .22 short, that parts fell off of everytime I shot it. I think I paid about $7 for it new in the box on a street one block north of the Courthouse square in Brownfield when I was 12. The street north of the square was small shops set up for the Transient (wet back and bracero Mexicans) farm labor. A barber shop was on that street also, and although I never got a haircut there, there were some girly cards I did buy.

My first 22 was a Beeman R10...
But my first 22 firearm was a Nylon 66 Black Diamond. Bought it for myself on my 18th b-day. Still have it, and another, a Mohawk Brown.
Remington Model 24, shorts only. That was in 1948 and I was 10 years old when we moved from Waco to San Diego. My Grandad gave it to me. In 2018 I passed it on to one of my Grandsons. It still shoots great.
Mine was a Ruger Mark I which I got because .357 magnum ammo was expensive. I later got a Ruger 10/22 for the same reason that .223 ammo was costly.
Wow! A slant grip Victor. That's a rare one.

The first .22 I ever fired was a Winchester M60, made in the mid 1930's, given to my dad by his dad in 1939. I still have it.
The first .22 I ever bought for myself was a 1976 Remington Nylon 66, still have it too.

My first .22 was my grandfather’s single-shot bolt-action rifle made by Simmons of Suhl, Germany.
It had a cracked stock and the ejector was my pocket knife. Traded it off for something.
