Their rules don't even make any sense.

Thank god I can shoot all I what, what I want, how much I want, and for free, in the gravel pit near my cabin.

P.s. just for fun i just sent a 9 ball OO buckshot 12 ga round through a 18.5" full bore home defense shotgun into a pumpkin and was rewarded with a beautiful orange explosion with lots of goop raining down.

After hearing those stories, I feel better about my local gun club. My worst gripe there is that I can't rapid-fire. But after looking at all the stray holes in the protective barriers, I can kind of understand.

The one free public range I go to doesn't have any rules that don't make sense. I think the no shotguns with shot is pretty common.

No limit on of fire or magazine limit. The only downside is that it is an hour away and right now their pistol range is shut down.

I shoot my AK there quite a bit at the 50 and 100 yard range. Usually slow, aimed fire. I usually only do a mag dump if somebody is glaring at me for shooting an eeeevil rifle.

It's hard for me to fathom why someone at a shooting range would cast the ole "fisheye" at another firing a MSR.

Sounds like the rules of the State ranges I frequent, which have literally been in place as long as I can remember. You wouldn't happen to be in Pennsylvania, would you? Most private ranges I know of don't have such restrictions to that level, but a few of the outdoor ones do, mainly just to keep relatively short time periods to wait for a range clear.

That's nuts. One of my local ranges has a no rapid fire rule, but I like it for zeroing new optics/sights. The other one is a club and the only rule they have is no magnetic projectiles if you're going to shoot the club's steel, which I'm okay with, even if I have to spend a bit more for my 7.62x39.
