    A day of realization........

Checked out a Rossi Circuit Judge from my LGS yesterday, missing choke for .410 and no choke wrench, also
missing rail on receiver. Stock has numerous scratches and a few dents, also missing fiber optic rod in front sight...................
First up, drilled out the front sight to accept a larger fiber optic rod, put it in and away we go.
Next up was trying to figure out why at times the hammer would not lock fully pulled to the rear, so tore the whole rifle down, low and
behold so much crap in the fire control and rust that the hammer would not consistently pull completely to the rear!
Cleaned it all up, smoothed and lubed all components and put it back together. Presto, rifle runs great!
Cylinder pulled apart and cleaned and lubed.
Buffed out small nicks and scratches on frame as well as cylinder, next is to refinish the stock................
    Now comes my rant!!!
It's a Taurus/Rossi, crap guns that don't run worth a hoot, here it all the time, on this forum as well as everywhere else.
My response, if you can't take care of a firearm(regardless of what it is) then if it fails when you need it, don't blame the gun idiots, blame yourself!
Circuit Judges are not cheap( at least for me)and when you have a beautiful high polish SS rifle, I would assume you would take the time and care
to go through the damn thing and clean it! Would think you would keep all the stuff that came with the gun!
Sorry, I forgot, the world is now filled with the instant gratification crowd who don't think they should have to do anything or learn anything(like maintaining a firearm) just
shoot it until it fails, then call it junk!..............
Rant over(and now some might realize why I don't get involved in diagnosing problems on the forum anymore) buy a gun, try to learn something on your own!

This seems to be an all too common theme with bashing a firearm's failings. We virtually never hear of neglect of cleaning and maintenance as the cause though I suspect that's the real cause 90% of the time. Thanks for sharing your experience and it sheds a huge light on the human condition and willingness to blame anything but themselves.

Looks like you gave an abused gun a happy new home! Enjoy! I wouldn't mind a range report once either. The Circuit Judge just looks like one of those unusual and really fun guns to shoot.

Well, unless the LGS wants to do better with the price, it won't be coming to my home, would have to get the other choke, a wrench for it,
    and a rail........................

I am sure that neglect is the cause of most failures in guns.

On a positive note....when the next American Revolution happens.....maybe all the liberals will take the attitude of not knowing how to take care of a gun. We can always hope for the best!

Sounds like you did a lot of work to increase the value of THEIR gun.No future in that.

Up until the rant, I have no idea what you're talking about. I guess there's a lot about handguns I don't know or think about.
