It finally happened - a dreaded bayonet on a rifle being used in a crime

Remember the AW ban of '94, and how it banned manufacture of rifles based on characteristics such as a bayonet lug, flash suppressor, grenade launcher, protruding pistol grip etc? Remember all the thousands of people bayoneted prior to 94 and how many lives would be saved? (sarcasm, I don't remember it either) Anyway, a person was murdered recently, and the murder weapon was an SKS with the dreaded bayonet.
Allegedly the victim might've been hit with the bayonet but was actually killed by being shot. From the limited information in the article, it sounds like the victim complied with the robber and did not resist. Unfortunately a relative was remotely watching the robbery live on a cell phone video when the relative called 911.

Those Clintons - such forward thinkers!

That "Assault Weapons" ban was such a festering pile of horse droppings. Liberalism at it's best; all about the appearances, and the reality be darned!

Has anyone actually stopped to think what the overall long term goal has been? Gov't codified a natural God given right of self defence. The Militia was able bodied men that could be chosen to protect this nation. Being well regulated meant basically they were armed with weaponry that could be used in war and were trained in the use and maintenance of said weapons. The Gov't then moved slowly and methodically to restrict and curtail the average citizen from holding arms of equal or better ability than the current standing army. At the same time, the "elected officials" sought to create a second set of rules and laws for themselves to exempt them from the same laws as the rest of "the People". In short, they are not bound to the same set of laws as those they rule over. If you reduce the ability of The People to fight back against an overly powerful gov't, you can implement additional restrictions until you have a feudal system of gov't without The People being able to do anything about it. Those in power will never submit to those without it. The larger the disparity of power, the more the elitists can get away with and more repressive they can become. The Libs can see the light at the end of this tunnel and they're gearing up for a final push. Unlike the ruling parties of the past who knew patience, this current crop wants to rush things. The older matured elitists know to slowly increase the temp of the pot to boil the frog. This current crop seeks to just throw the frog on the coals.
Stabbings happen daily in the US, often resulting in death. Any pointed or bladed object can be used. A good low cost rifle that does not have a plastic stock, can fire an intermediate round and is semi auto is the SKS. This IS a battle rifle still in use in different parts of the world. The Libs can't attack it as an evil Black rifle because it looks the same (to the untrained eye) as grandpa's hunting rifle EXCEPT for the big knife thingy on the front. So the goal is to find cases where the big knife thingy is used in an assault. Once that's determined, you can now push to ban them, furthering the overall goal of disarmament of the masses. naturally the MSM will be all over this to a criminal level (18 USC 241, 242; 42 USC 1983, 1985). It'll be yet another step in total disarmament ala death by a thousand cuts. If they push too fast or too hard as the new Libs want, the result is revolution. Watch for more crimes like this where a bayoneted weapon is being used. I'm pretty sure we'll start seeing an increase followed by demands to ban them.

People don't like to use stabbing objects, as much as shooting, because stabbing someone is a very visceral way to attack. You have to be truly dedicated to sink a piece of steel into someone's flesh (while feeling it glance off bone and sinews). Plus, you have to get in close...this requires some skill, which most people do not have nor want to take the time and practice to attain.

well all of that ,Plus it takes a tad bit of Coordination to twist the knife as you stick it in as well!!!
not much beats a short sharp edged instrument however IF you get in a fight inside a Telephone Booth!
IE: telephone booth--think of it as a smart phone that's enclosed in glass and has a long drop cord attached!
