My contention is that they know that their restrictions won't change a thing. Then they can say that they didn't go far enough and bring down more restriction.

    A very slippery slope indeed.

This. When you say to an anti gunner that their particular proposal won't change anything, sometimes they will admit it, but then say, "It's a good first step."
Most of the time though they are hesitant to say what it's a first step toward, but I did have a couple of them admit once that what they really wanted eventually were gun laws like what England has. I asked why not just campaign towards removing the 2nd Amendment first, and both of them said that wasn't politically possible, that small changes were needed first to get the general public to be more accepting of a total gun ban.

I was telling someone that. They were like "there were hundreds of people in that Walmart in Texas, you don't think one of them had a gun". I have to admit I was a little surprised at first. You always hear about Texas being "The Gun State". So I looked it up. Texas is 18th in gun ownership per capita, and 29th in concealed carriers per capita. I was surprised.

In the news it was mentioned that there were at least two people who could've been carrying but didn't. One was a civilian CCW license holder, the other was an LEO. They weren't carrying because in the words of the LEO, "I was just going to Walmart."

They were no different than a lot of people who could legally carry, but say that "I only carry when I need to." The unfortunite bottom line is, if you are somewhere where there is a group of people, a mass shooting could occur.

Kind of like saying I don't need a seat belt...I'm not getting into an accident.

OMG!! This is the best 6 minutes about gun violence in America that I have ever heard. All of America needs to hear this, if I could put it on the evening network news I would. Thank you rollin thunder for posting this.

Unfortunately I think that is pretty common. I have a LEO friend and ironically enough I ran into him at Walmart and asked what he was carrying and he said he didn't carry off duty. Doesn't make any sense to me. Out with your family and you come across some guy that you put away for 6 years and he gets out and is on a meth bender. I'm not a copper and if I am out, I have mine.

It is about that same logic.

In the news today, everyone is running out to buy a gun and get their CCW, because of what happened at WallyWorld.
The commies overplay their hand, every single time.
