I have what I would call a "Working Collection". Any of them may find themselves on a trip to the Range for some exercise and some more often than others.
Some are "Practical Collectibles" that are only collectible due to being discontinued by their Manufacturer or Importer.
Below are some of my most cherished pieces for your viewing pleasure.

    Walther AC Code WWII P-38
Mauser mfg S/42 1936 Luger Pistol

    Ruger Speed Six .38 Spcl
    Colt MkV Trooper .357 Mag
    Colt King Cobra .357 Mag

    Century Czech Vz2008/Vz58 in 7.62x39mm

Interarms Mark X Mauser in .30/06

Yeah, on the news, they were talking about some moron who had shot up something and they said, "Officers searched his house and found 15 firearms!" Comment from the moron reporter was "Who NEEDS 15 guns?" as if he could bring all 15 to shoot up a mall or something. I don't tweet or I'd told him not to come inspect MY house! I've got WAY more'n THAT!

I don't have a collection, I have an assortment. I like to have one of every different kind or action. Revolvers and semi-automatics in SA, DAO. SA/DA and rifles in bolt, semi-auto and lever action as well as a pump shotgun. Their capacities are 5,6,7,9,10,12,17,25 and 30. Even have a BB/Pellet rifle and pistol (pump and co2).

The difference between a collection and an accumulation is basically that a collection has a theme and direction. I have a large accumulation of guns but my collection consists of 15 Korth revolvers.

What guns I have can't be considered a collection at all. The accumulation grew as my hunting / shooting interests evolved, but they all have a designated purpose for now. My workshop is filled with tools of every shape and design, but it's not a "collection" - I've never heard of someone talking about their collection of 3/8 drive sockets, or their cool sets of chisels. The only things that I can safely say that I collected - USCF tournament chess sets and Dietz Lanterns, all sit deeply stored away in boxes - never to see the light of day in my lifetime.

Umm, excuse me? Might I humbly request that you pick a favorite example or two and head over ot "other handguns" and tell us all about them?
