WallyWorld Demands I.D. to Purchase Ammo

I went to WallyWorld yesterday to buy a 1000 rounds of the Federal 200 round boxes($33.97) and the kid asked for ID. I told him you don't need ID to purchase ammo(and no, I'm about 50 years past, looking like a kid)
So, I played with him, and asked if it was a Federal government law or was it WallyWorld's law? He didn't know, so I suggested he call the manager and have him come to explain everything to us.
Turns out, it's been Wally's policy for over a year, according to the manager. I used to buy ammo there every couple/few weeks and I have never been asked to show ID.
I left the 5 boxes of ammo on the counter and walked out. No more WallyWorld for me...bunch of commies! Sam Walton is spinning like a top in his grave.

Is Bentonville, Arkansas like San Francisco these days? Does WallyWorld Corporate have a designated safe space?

Were you expected to simply show ID or were they going to copy/scan your ID?

Yeah, I bought some ammo from Wal-Mart last August, they had it all locked up inside of a glass case behind the counter with no clerk on duty, so I had to flag down an employee to grab the ammo for me and they carded me too.

Seems like a pointless policy, but whatever. I don't usually buy ammo there anyway.

In our area Fleet Farm stores also require an ID.
When I found that out I quit buying any ammo there.

I've never been asked for ID to purchase ammo.

ETA: it doesn't say they are going to card you. It states they'll not sell ammo to someone under 21.

Do you still get carded when you buy alcohol? I doubt that you do.

If I get carded I take it as a compliment.
I usually ask my wife how it feels to be
married to such a young studly type guy.

About a year after I went on disability and had more work done to my legs I went to work part time at a TA truck stop working as a cashier out at the gas islands. Right away I found that they card every sale for cigarettes no matter what. Oh Well.

All the Walmart employee is going to do is punch your birth date into the register to complete the sale. So relax, nobody is going to track your ammo purchase and follow you in a black SUV.

I have no issue with this as a matter of fact i like it. You should have to show age and proof of citizenship to buy guns, ammo and to vote, join the military, run for office.... To many illegals here that have no rights to these things.
