I shot my M4 a few rounds after getting off the tractor. If I hadn't mowed first, I couldn't have seen the gong.

Took my 692 and G2S to an indoor range I'd never been to before. Got in for half price with a veteran discount.

    50 rounds of .357 and 35 rounds of 9mm in the 692. 100 rounds of 9mm in the G2S.

I tried out the Raging Bull 444. Ran about 12 rounds each of 240 gr, 200 gr and 180 gr. She seems to like the 200 gr best right now. I will see what it likes after about 200 more rounds.

To some, this may look like a bale of last years hay. To me, it is the backstop of the pistol range outside my garage!

Yesterday, an old Navy friend and I went to the range with his new Ruger LCP, a pair of my 380's, four 9mm's, and my shiny stainless Taurus M-66 .357. (The older, 6-shot variety). I would be ashamed to show any targets, except for his first magazine-full from the new Ruger. Winter with no shooting has been especially deleterious to our marksmanship.

I went Friday, took the PT1911 duo tone and my neglected lil Sig 238.
haven't shot either in a while.
ran 100 rounds through each, and while you wouldn't want me shooting at you I did pull 3 rounds off the head at 15 yards with the lil sig and pulled 4 rounds into the lower tummy with the PT1911 at 15 yards (dropping the muzzle as I pulled the trigger).
those 1911 triggers take getting use to again IF you been shooting them CZ for a while.
no functional problems with either weapon.

I got out to my indoor range yesterday morning. I bought my first striker fired handgun, a Honor Defense Honor Guard 9mm. As with any new firearm, the manual mandates factory ammo only. Okay, I get it. They can’t control the madness that results when folks push the envelope. But that’s not me! I tend to load to the lower end of recipes...and sometime just below that, depending on the firearm.

While there are many nice features about the Honor Guard, reliable ignition isn’t one of them. Maybe they specified factory ammo only because it has a sensor that prevents primer ignition in hand loaded rounds. Thankfully, I brought along 2 hammer fired 9mms, my carry Kimber Micro 9, and my trusty Beretta 92FS. The Honor Guard 9 does not have double strike capability like the Taurus G2C that I’d planned to buy. So it was quite a frustrating session when few (maybe 2) full magazines fired without a click...no bang!

I hesitate to refer to it as a “light primer strike” as this example had the crap beat out of it. Name: 85BA10F7-1652-4727-8365-87523D38F346.jpeg

In most cases, loading that round back into the HG9 magazine resulted in successful firing. While some may be quick to consider high primers, I can confidently state that I’m well past that phase of learning to reload. Moreover, that may have happened in 1 o r 2, once in a while (never in 9mm), and, I had 100% firing success with the same ammo in my Micro 9 as well as my 92FS. AND, I had a couple of instances where the round failed to fire twice in the HG9, but immediately fired in the Kimber.

All in all, it was a good outing as I got to shoot over 200 rounds, and validate 5 different loads, in 4 different powders.

Mark if those are reloads then what primers were you using?

My Taurus PT92C will not shoot CCI primers. Will fire Winchester, S&B and Federal every time but load CCI primers in it and I will get a 60% failure rate. So now I will not load CCI in any of my 9mm just because of that one gun.

Our experience with CCI primers and Taurus firearms differ.
