For use when I get back to Illinois. Most indoor ranges there don't allow steel case ammo.

I was under the impression that it is steel core (green tip) ammo that is banned as it can set the rubber crumb backstops on fire. I see steel cases frequently.

I think some of them don't allow steel case because they want the brass on top of non-lead/copper ammo potentially damaging backstops or steel targets.

I've wanted to order .44 mag and 357 brass, but haven't bothered due to shipping times.

My home range (Frisco Gun Club) doesn't allow steel case ammo. I figure its because they want to harvest the spent brass to sell it and don't want it contaminated with steel. They'd have to sort it out before they sell it.

Likely ---- course a magnet takes care of that!
now you need to be sure and use a regular magnet and not a Brass Magnet!

Yeah, I don't know the actual specific reason why they don't allow steel case. The recycling + selling it is only my supposition.

Ordered a .50 Beowulf upper today.

Now hopefully this virus stuff blows over quickly so I can get back to doing my side jobs to pay for brass, dies, and a few other additional reloading accessories I want, to start another caliber. Also need to save up for a dedicated lower build for it. Pretty sure I will never buy factory ammo for it. I already looked up load data for it and I have plenty of powder, bullets and primers on hand.

Starline has brass in stock however I'm trying to get a smaller quantity than 250. Still looking around. Be nice if I could find someone that wants to split an order.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.
