Battle of Wanat: 10 years ago last 13 July, 1LT Brostram was killed in combat killing the last enemy combatant in the outpost. The LT went to the point of decision and made the difference that turned the tide of the battle. The original investigation found the Bde Cmdr, the Bn Cmdr and the Co Cmdr at fault for dereliction of duty. If you want to see what a sarcastic silver star citation reads like, pull up the company commander's silver star.

Went shooting with the family today and came home with a Rock Island M1911 fs Tactical 2011

My son wasn't shooting it well and got frustrated. He asked me to shoot it.

    Darned gun shoots left.

He screams; See, you can't even shoot it!

So, I bought from him for a very fair price... for a gun that doesn't shoot straight.

I neglected to tell him his rear sight, set screw was missing and the rear sight was half off the slide.

Renewed my Indoor Gun Range membership and picked up 600 rounds of Federal 9mm, 115gr Brass range ammo.

Now, I need to get back into my range habit.

So where did you hide the set screw?

Pretty nice surprise! My wife and I had a day off together and planned a quick trip to Crystal River (FL) for lunch and a little shopping. As we pulled into the Rural King lot, she handed me one of my credit cards that I don't carry as a rule and said, "If you find a gun you can't live without, go for it!"

I was looking for a S&W 640 Airweight, but there were none to be had in the display case. Right where I saw one last visit, however, was this:

Kimber K6s .357. Just about twice as much as I intended to spend, but guess what?

I'll probably have a chance to shoot it tomorrow and I'll let you know how it goes...

How'd the slide turn out for you? I've been eyeballing one for my P80 G17.

I couldn't pass on a $99 AR pistol upper from Combat Armory. So then I had to order a pistol lower from PSA.
