    Except some of these folks are of the mind that non-violence means never committing ANY violent act, even in self-defense.

    One should never be so open-minded that your brain falls out.

    I have found that yogis are remarkably rational, though. Back in the day, I took a pledge of non-violence. It was:
    I shall never start a fight. I will try my best to avoid one. If one is forced upon me, I will win.
    Still words to live by.
