    Springfield Armory Saint Speculation

Just over a week away from the big unveiling. So, what are your guesses for the new top secret project from Springfield? I'm guessing it's a small/thin carry pistol to compete directly against the Shield, etc.

When you read the press release here:

Springfield Armory Announces "The SAINT" - The Truth About Guns

It talks about Springfield's heritage as the 1911 and "...innovative products, including the XD®, XD® Mod.2®, XD(M)® and XD-S® polymer pistols." So it would appear The Saint will compete more with Kimber than Smith & Wesson.

They already have the XDS, smaller and thinner than the shield.

Probably another full size 45, or M14 variant.

Springfield has no .22 caliber pistols. May be a .22 target pistol to compete with Ruger, S&W or Browning. If it is, Saint wouldn't be a name I would think I'd give it...It might be a compact double stack 1911.

All valid points. I was basing my speculation on the images from the marketing campaign. Everyone in workout attire and mostly female. To me, that hints toward a smaller concealed carry product.

That 22 market would be very hard to break into. I'm thinking a .380 is more likely.

I’ve heard that Springfield will be releasing a .45 that actually works right out of the box.
They call it the saint because it’s a miracle!

    Striker fired revolver.
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.

I think if it were a striker-fire revolver they would name it Sinner instead of Saint...
