    Reactive Targets - Your Favorites?

Just out of curiosity, what are some of your favorite reactive targets?

Personally, I prefer old milk jugs filled with water for one as well as cola cans, either empty or full. The unfortunate thing is, the cans aren't able to absorb many hits before they're destroyed and then it's time to bring out a new can/target.

I have an almost unlimited supply of wine bottles. Ketchup packets tacked to cardboard silhouettes can be pretty cool also.

Haven't done it yet, but I'm interested in trying jello-filled milk jugs.

Finally.... an idea for the the ketchup packets I usually throw away. I can't believe I never thought of that.

I got a small 22 target (Small Caliber Cube) from Just Shoot Me Products for Xmas and I love the thing. It moves around but it appears to be about a tough as they say. I haven't shot it with my AR and don't plan to even though its rated to take it. I'd rather save it for the rimfire stuff.

At some point I want to get the larger version (the All Around Target) of what I already have. I'd have it now except I've been prioritizing more ammo for stock before prices jump.

Some great ideas! Thanks for those.

I like plastic gallon jugs filled with water and food coloring, cheap cans of root beer, vigorously shaken, ditto whipped cream. Watermelons, and for my .22 and / or .17hmr, sealable prescription bottles filled with water.

Actually, all jokes aside, I really like shooting cans and jugs filled with water. When I was a kid we used to shoot cactus, that was a lot of fun.

Re: Reactive Targets - Your Favorites?

I will go for any reactive targets unfortunetly our range is paper only. I guess too many have shot up cans and clays and left the debris so it spoiled it for others. I purchased a birchwood casey spinning steel target for use as the range officer said I could use a commercial target. I took it to the range and he instructed me that it is too low and I should try and make a mount for it to be higher. Well I thought since I have to make my own stand I might as well make my own targets and put them at the hight that is comfortable but I have to have my custom made units approved by a range officer. The problem with that is I shoot at the odd hours were there is no officer, O what is one to do.
