Hunting Easter Eggs, little hands get hands on shooting practice

I know I have mentioned it before but, I'm a proud uncle. Today we had Easter dinner with my sister and her kids. After they ran around the yard looking for the cheap plastic eggs just for the goodies inside, I told them we were changing the rules a bit. I told them to empty out a few eggs each and bring then back out to the yard...where we had 2 bb guns waiting. I had a blast teaching, helping, and then simply watching my niece really getting the hang of breaking the little plastic eggs. My nephew did well too, but he never got really consistent.

Well...I know how it is around here...pics or it didn't happen, so here ya go. My neice (11) nephew (eight) and my dad helping monitor for safe practices. Great day.

That has been a family tradition in our family for years. The girls liked forward to it more than the egg hunt. We use real eggs, though.

Sounds like a new family tradition, next year with a .22. Great pic, in 35 years hopefully they'll be doing it with their kids.

That's why we use real eggs.

Whatever we missed in the clean up would feed the animals. Considering we saw a deer and fawn a few weeks ago about 30 yards from the spot in the tree line that we normally set up, I think there will be plenty of wild life around to munch on the scraps of boiled eggs and eggshells.

That's the deal. They shoot, they clean up. It wasn't bad anyway. The bbs just blew through without splintering so it was big chunks to pick up.
