S&W 5 screw 4" barrel .38 M&P (pre model 10) manufactured same year as me, 1947. Damn that was a good year! Handed down from my dad, and will be handed down by me.

My first three guns were a Charter Arms undercover, an RG .22 and a Raven, but I can't remember which was first. The Charter was the first of handgun of decent quality I owned. Shortly after, I got a Blackhawk, which was the first handgun of good quality I owned. (I now consider the new Charters to be of good quality.)

Beretta PX4 compact. At the time competition rules dictated I needed the full size. Wish I still have the compact model too.

The first pistol I ever bought with my own money was a PT-10 Grendel .380, the lost souls of polymer pistols. My ex still has it, not a great lose to either.

Stallard JS9 (precursor to the Hi-Point pistols). Still have it, Hi-Point rebuilt it for me, for free after 20 years of use. And replaced all my mags.

I'd say I got my $89 worth for sure. It is more 1911 like in size (9+1) 9mm, & is one of the smoothest shooting guns I own.

Looks like this, just not in nickel (darn it).

My very first was a capgun, western style. Chromed pot metal with plastic grips imitating staghorn. One side of the "cylinder" pivoted out of the way to load rolls of caps. This one fell victim to the John Deere riding mower the summer between 1st and 2nd grade.

The second was a phoenix hp22a which I still have although it is destroyed from entirely too many more rounds than its designed anticipated would go through it in 16 years. My third I miss dearly. Taurus 66 6" blued tackdriver.

My dad gave me a Stainless Steel Ruger MkII in 22LR back in ~ 1969 when I turned 10. Still have it.

First I bought with my own money was the Taurus PT140. Still have it too.

"To own firearms is to affirm that freedom is not a gift from government...As the Founding Fathers knew well, a government that does not trust its honest, law-abiding, taxpaying citizens with the means of self-defense is not itself worthy of trust."

The possession of arms by the people is the ultimate warrant that government governs only with the consent of the governed.
