don't own a PT -22 but IF memory serves me the recommendation is for standard velocity 22 long Rifle ammo?
then it would be the one (or ones) that function 100%, I mean in a standard velocity 22 LR you really aren't getting a lot of performance out of a 2 inch barrled pistol anyway.
    do you have the manual?
if so check that and they will have that info listed, if not check the Taurus website.

The manual says standard velocity only - off to change my suggestion in your other thread!

Good question. One should be on the way to my local transfer agent, so I'll need to get some .22's for it. I have heard that some .22 pistols can be finicky, so I'll probably buy a variety to see how finicky mine will be.

My PT-22 and Ply model both thrive on CCI Mini-mags. That's the solid or hollow point versions. This is a link from earlier at this forum. Leave the links in the link alone as time has made many of them obsolete.

I have the older alloy version of the PT22. High Velocity works better because the PT22 has no extractor, just blow back.
If you get Standard Velocity it's better to get match rounds if possible. Here what I use:

    For High Velocity:
CCI Mini Mags (they have jacketed/plated copper round noses) Really good.
Aguila Super Extra (they have jacketed/plated copper round noses with great eley primers) Really good.
Sellier & Bellot High Velocity Hollow Points (probably not a lot of expansion from the short barrel but they go down range)
Remington Thunderbolts (some people hate them.. I never had any major issues with them)

    For Standard Velocity:

Aguila Pistol Match (these have eley primers) Really Good
    Fiocchi Really Good
    Geco (Geman import)
    Federal AutoMatch Target Ammo
