    I just fried up a big skillet of coined okra with just enough corn meal to tell when it was done. No battered okra for me ever. I also add minced jalepenos and onions. The trick is to fry all to a point of being dark brown, not black, but a little black shows you have fried the concoction long enough. While pan frying the okra, I tossed in a couple of whole fresh Jalapenos I had injected with soy sauce. These are delicious and they need to be fried until the skin bubbles and the jalapenos start shrinking. They are delicious, but never save any to eat the next day or you will find yourself doing the green apple qwik step!

    Sea scallops sauteed in garlic butter, butterfly shrimp with cocktail sauce, baked potato and corn. Delicious.

    I got this wild hair about making dishes with Textured Vegatable Protein instead of meat. This is a soy bean product commercially made with soy flour. These come in different sizes.

    I made a veggie chilie that turned out pretty good taste wise, but the texture of the TVP seemed more like a finely ground hamburger, hopefully a little larger size may help that, but for now, a few fritos in strategic places is helping that.

    Last night, I cooked Soybeans flavored with soy sauce and brisket rub. The recepie said the beans would be firm, and they were. I may try cooking them again to see if they will soften up any more. They may not.

    Don't worry, I'm not going vegetarian at all, I still love my BBQ, steaks, fish, bacon and eggs, and tamales. It won't hurt many any, and if I can get the texture thing sorted out, I will continue to try it....see if this thought last more than two weeks.

    A side of pork ribs that was in the oven all day at ~200 degrees. Now they got a layer of BBQ sauce on them. Plus boiled red taters and broccoli.
    Got leftover ribs to go with some sauerkraut tomorrow and my wife is going to make potato salad with the extra spuds.
