    Air Fryer Cajun Shrimp

Found a recipe for Air Fryer Cajun Shrimp online. I modified it to my taste a little. Came out real good. Great thing is you can use what ever sausage you like and what ever vegetables you like in it. I'll be making this one again.

    1 tablespoon creole seasoning
1 pound jumbo shrimp peeled and deveined
1/2 pound cooked Andouille sausage sliced into 1/4" pieces
1 medium zucchini sliced into 1/4" inch thick half moon slices
1 yellow squash sliced into 1/4" inch thick half moon slices
1 red bell pepper seeded and cut into thin 1-inch pieces
    1/2 pound sliced mushrooms
    1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
    2 tablespoons olive oil

Preheat the air fryer to 400° F

In a large bowl, combine the Cajun seasoning and shrimp, toss to coat. Add the remaining ingredients and toss coating everything with the oil.

Depending on the size of your air fryer cook in batches large enough to cover the basket in a single layer for 8 minutes shaking the basket 2-3 times during the cooking process.

Set aside each batch until all batches are done. Once all the batches are cooked combine everything back into the basket and cook 1 more minute to evenly heat everything back up.

While the recipe sounds great (almost anything involving seafood in good to me) I'm still not sold on those air fryers yet. My wife got one for Mother's Day and she loves it and I admit it cuts down on the grease and calories. However, it takes longer to cook up what you want to eat especially if you're serving several people at one time. I'll stick to the oil fryer with peanut oil when I'm frying seafood in the kitchen.

Sounds GREAT!! I may need to go take a look in the pantry to see what gadget I can get rid of so I have room for a new kitchen Super Gizmo Fryer.

You guys keep up this "air-fryer" business, and I'm going to have to break down and get one.

Has chef duane weighed in on this item yet?

I like the ingredients, and also bet it would make a great stir fry! I have a good wok, but no air fryer!

    Sounds good...

I am a avid collector of cooker books, and I have a good few US ones -Wilson Sonoma I doo particularly like. BUT.. we have to temper your recipes in terms of quantities, especially when it comes to meat, but also with the likes of shrimp. You want a 5 pound chuck roast.. get a mortgage. You want 8 pound piece of port for your pulled pork recipe? Sell a kidney AND get a mortgage..!!

Meat, sadly, is rather expensive in good old GB. So, whilst I salivate profusely over the photos of the recipes, I am quickly doing mental arithmetic working out conversions in weights etc. Similarly, your measures and ours are different, but that presents no problem as we have, over the years, bought many kitchen items whilst visiting friends.. I even brought back a cast iron bacon press in my suitcase..!!

Our friends in Louisiana send us Jambalaya mixes, we buy plenty of Saur's Meatloaf mix when we're over.. We have tubs of 'Slap Ya Mama' seasoning to name just one..!! It's gorgeous, I just love Southern food.
