I've done that, and my meat of choice is a can of corned beef hash browned on the stove before being added. I've scrambled the eggs and poured them in. The texture is different from the skillet, but still good. If I can't nuke it, or not use the crockpot, I'd probably starve.

New Year will be 2lbs of pork sirloin on the bottom, 1 15 oz jar of Mott's unsweetened natural apple sauce on top of the pork, half to one teaspoon of cinnamon on top of the Mott's, two sliced Granny Smith apples, then two pounds of Vlasic Olde Fashion Sauerkraut on top. Cooked for 7 to 8 hours on low before stirring up and ready to serve at 10 hours. The only problem is finding the quality pork sirloin. Fortunately for me, there is one grocery store and two butcher shops that sell local grown quality pork.

A crockpot with just warm, low, medium, and high is regulated by the Feds to be above 200-degrees on low. Pork has to be cooked so many hours per pound at 185 to be safe to eat. So no pork precooking is needed. At 7 to 8 hours being cooked and marinated in the apple sauce, it is already falling apart.

Walmart's best pork sirloin sucks. Brown sugar is verboten, nyet, nie, and evil.

Do you use fresh, homemade hash browns or store bought frozen patties?

If time permits I shred my own potatoes. Other wise I will use the shredded potatoes that come in the refrigeration section of the grocery store. If you shred your own make sure they are as dry as you can get them before putting them in the crock pot. Depending on the moisture content I'll toss mine in the oven for 10-15 minutes to help dry them out.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.
