My favorite camping meal is a can of no-bean chili thinned with a little water, then when it's hot crumble a brick of ramen in there to cook. Next time I'll remember to bring some cheese and onions.

I'm going camping/hunting/fishing in a couple of weeks. This thread is a godsend. It's given me plenty of good ideas.

Yeah... that stuff is gross! It's the stuff not good enough for sausage or pork roll!

Peanuts in a glass bottle Coke.
A Mrs. Smiths honey bun (size of a brick white icing thick) and Barqs rootbeer in clear glass bottle.
    Moon pie and RC Cola.
Peanut butter and Bama grape jelly samage and cold water out of the garden hose. Well water of coarse.

Well, some of you folks have made me hungry, and others have taken away that same hunger. I haven't decided yet what I am going to do with the pan of biscuits I just put into the oven. I could get ambitious, get out the essential oil of bacon I save and make some heavenly creme gravy and eat the whole can, but I will probably just go the butter and jelly route and save half of them for tomorrow, when I can make them into some type of slider....wish I had a can of spam in the pantry.

A lot of things guarantee you a tasty quick dish or long time to cook dish. These are smoke flavor....real or even that fake smoke flavor stuff, onions, jalapenos, cheese, Lipton's Onion Soup Mix, Any of the meat flavored bullions, Sour Cream, Buttermilk, Your favorite can of Chili, salsa, butter, syrup, jelly and various condiments, chow chow comes to mind.

The pouches of instant potatoes of anything you can imagine flavor wise, and the pouches of pasta, of rice...even beans take such a short time to prepare and you can make a real meal out of them by adding a little meat....even cutting jerky into small bites and mixing with the dish while it rehydrates...the jerky does also and adds it's spices to the flavor. Dropping a can of your favorite chili on top of any of the above with some cheese makes a real good meal.

I experiment a lot regarding how to make things taste better including Spam and Vienna. I have smoked a lot of spam with pecan, oak and apricot wood.

A lot of my quick snack planning came from having a 120 day food supply back before Trump was elected and figuring out what would keep and making it more palateable, particularly when I pretty much ate all of the stuff before it expired. Canned Chili is a must as it has an indeterminable shelf life, just like Spam.

I have made up my mind to get back in that 120 day position on food before November 3 of next year.

Rat Bait - peanut butter, honey, raisins, and oats (uncooked oatmeal). Just stir together. Can be put on bread if desired.
