    Tested Positive for Antibodies

Well, I gave blood the other day and received an email stating that I tested positive for the Covid-19 antibodies. I guess my number wasn't up! Never felt sick at all.

Did you donate blood or did you have it tested?

Your blood is more valuable than it would have been, they could use it to give others antibodies to the virus. From what I've read, anywhere from 30-40% of the population could be asymptomatic and have the antibodies as well.

Yea but where did the email come from? Some Prince in Zimbabwe?

Glad you aren't reporting being sick!

How much of a lag between giving the blood and getting the notification?
I ask because I gave blood on the 17th, and I haven't heard anything.
I'd love to have them tell me I've already had and recovered from it - I got really sick for most of a week around the first of February.

In the early part of the year, a large number of staff in my hospital's emergency department were sidelined (off work, hospitalization, etc.) with symptoms closely resembling COVID-19. We are all interested in having antibody testing done, but nothing offered in our area just yet. Drat.

Glad to hear you weren't ill. I would be curious to know if your close circle of friends/family will also test positive for antibodies. Hmmm...
