    Took my ccw class yesterday!

Hey all! Passed my Tennessee ccw class yesterday. Now the waiting begins for the license. I was a bit nervous about the range test cause I've put a total of 20 shots at a ju with a handgun. Out of the 48 shots taken (goofy tn requirement) I missed one, I got over confident and went for a headshot at 15 yards...missed by an inch, my last shot at 15 yards was dead center between the eyes. My suggestion to those who will be taking the test is simple...lay off the coffee in the class room, that target was shaking like crazy!

Now I need to get some back 40 range time in, get that proper muscle memory built up.

Congratulations! Now, the wait. Thanks for sharing how coffee makes the target shake. I'll be sure to keep the caffeine off the target when I take my class next month.

I called my little bro after and told him about the shakin...his reply was very helpful! "Joel, your coffee to blood ratio....this was real world traing for you!". I have to say, there really was an adrenalin rush once on the range though! Guns firing (all 5 lanes were students and we all shot at the same time). I know it wasn't a fight for your life situation but I surely felt how much a little rush can change your breathing, time perception, muscle twitches....

Range instructor got a chuckle when I asked for a more realistic target! I wanted a snake and a 39# dog. More problems with those than people (I inspect foreclosed houses and just don't I in if it doesn't feel right with a squatter possibly inside).

Congrats. I just took mine for the second time on Saturday. MN has a goofy deal that you have to take the class every five years, redo all the paperwork and give the county some more money. Oh well, five more years taken care of.

My CHL renewal will come next year. Now is the time for me to save money for it.
