North Carolina CCW Permit Holders Can Now Carry During States of Emergency

The short session of the General Assembly in North Carolina this summer did give gunowners
one bit of good news - the restriction on concealed carry during declared States of Emergency
has been lifted. Governor Perdue has signed this legislation and there is no longer a ban on
concealed carry during States of Emergency. Common sense has prevailed at last: An emergency
situation would be the time law abiding citizens need their Second Amendment rights the most.

Great news for a change in NC.. the anti gun crown in Raleigh were trying to revise the stand your ground laws that excluded your vehicle and only your property but it was pushed back I heard. Beverly Perdue is not running for re election here this NOV.. and we have a shot at a Republican governor and try to get some control on the spending spree she had.

    Nice, I hope Florida follows.
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.

That is good news indeed. I and several others have been calling or representatives regularly to let them know how their voters feel about this ridiculous law. I think they may smell a shift in the winds in Raliegh or at least I hope so.

I got the news through an e-mail update from the NRA. The new legislation is known as House Bill-843.
I will try to set up a link, if that doesn't work, at least you can look up the new law online.

Update: I am having problems with the link but you can go to the NRA-ILA site and read about
it. This law takes efffect October 1, 2012.
