...When my eldest son asked me what he should have done, had he been present when I was almost fatally assaulted in 1908, whether he should have run away and seen me killed or whether he should have used his physical force which he could and wanted to use, and defended me, I told him that it was his duty to defend me even by using violence. 15 of my guns are all pocket carried. Which one chosen for the gun du jour depends on the pants material, style, and pocket depth/opening angle.

Lately,I've unloaded and stored the autos and gone back to revolvers, .38 in right front pocket and .357 on the hip. I just find it totally practical and I'm fast and deadly with my revolvers. Firepower doesn't concern me, totally irrelevant to me. I don't spray and pray, I place my shots and my revolvers just point naturally for me.

Lately, I’ve put away my warm weather clothing and broke out the heavier duty stuff. Due to everyone bundling up more in cold weather, I’ve begun carrying my SIG P320 in 357SIG; carry it OWB in a Safariland ALS at ~ 5:00-5:30 position.

The 357 SIG supposedly offers ~ upwards of 200 FPS faster velocity and upwards of 500 foot pounds of energy (both numbers compared to 40S&W) which should overcome “bundled” heavy clothing. This is per Paul Harrell.

Very nice, what ammo are you using in it. I have the Sig P239 in .357 Sig that I bought used many years ago and love that gun. It's probably about the same weight as yours, but holds less rounds and is a bit smaller.

Today the nod goes to my Sig P365 in a pocket carry holster with a spare 12 round magazine in the other pocket. One of my Taurus G2C pistols is in my cars lock box.

Cold weather even here; temperatures plunging into the 50s & 60s during early mornings and at night.

Might be about that time of year to upgrade from 22LR and 25acp by adding a 32acp.

I’ve carried my S&W Shield 40, OWB and IWB on Sunday’s for a few years. Last January I bought a Glock 19 thinking I would carry it in colder weather. Haven’t done it yet. The Shield just feels so right.

That's funny...I also think about changing out to the PT 111 G2...the CZ 75 Compact or even the 605 with 38 Special +P....I really have no fear that any one of those rounds would be effective against a bundled up bad guy here in the Chiraq area...but the Shield 45 still rides on my hip.

“Historically, freedom is a rare and fragile thing . . . Freedom has cost the blood of millions in obscure places and in historic sites ranging from Gettysburg to the Gulag Archipelago . . .That something that cost so much in human lives should be surrendered piecemeal in exchange for visions and rhetoric seems grotesque. Freedom is not simply the right of intellectuals to circulate their merchandise. It is, above all, the right of ordinary people to find elbow room for themselves and a refuge from the rampaging presumptions of their ‘betters’.” Thomas Sowell
