The last time I even heard it mentioned (and it was only in passing) was earlier this year when our lawmakers
caved to pressure from the Sheriff's Assoc., and shot down our right to carry during declared emergencies.
The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who
are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms. ~ Samuel Adams

    From Florida Carry:

    November 5th, 2014
    Dear XXXXX,

Tomorrow is a very important day for gun owners across Florida. At 10 am, the 4th Florida District Court of Appeal will hear oral arguments on Norman v. State. This case asks the fundamental question - how does one exercise the right to bear arms in Florida? Do we, in fact, have that right in the Sunshine State where the Concealed Carry license is granted as only a privilege?

We urge you to take take some time from your day to support the Second Amendment by attending the oral arguments in person. The session should last only about an hour. Florida Carry believes that a strong presence in the courtroom will be beneficial in conveying to the court that there is public support for a favorable ruling. If you are able, please attend. Courtroom appropriate attire is requested, and remember, courtrooms are prohibited places for carry of firearms or other weapons.

What - Oral Arguments in Norman v. State
    When - Nov 6th, 2014 at 10:00 am (arrive by 9:30 am)
Where - 1525 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd.
    West Palm Beach, FL 33401-2399

    DIRECTIONS TO THE 4TH DCA:

Take I-95 to Exit 71 (old exit 53).

Turn East onto Palm Beach Lakes Blvd.

Travel about seven tenths of a mile.

Go past the fourth traffic light.

The Court is located on the left hand side.

It is a one story red brick building with white trim.

If you go over a canal you have gone too far.

Mr. Norman is represented by Mr. Eric J. Friday, Florida Carry's lead counsel.

LET'S SHOW THE 4TH DCA WE SUPPORT OPEN CARRY AND THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS!
If you are unable to attend in person, you can still watch the court proceedings live online at: Florida's Fourth District Court of Appeals Website
    Sincerely,
Sean Caranna and Richard A. Nascak

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.

If there is a natural disaster, you better believe I will be armed if I have to bug-out.

I think the problem is getting past all the committees that need to pass it first. The Florida way, send it through as many committees as you can hoping one won't pass it. That is unless the state wants it to pass then surprisingly in only goes to a few committees.
