    I love that song

On topic: when I travel to Chicago I dont even bother. Government is a bigger threat to my liberty there than common street criminals in my opinion.

Some places are no problem. I fly in and out of RDU (Raleigh, NC) all the time. No real issues, except sometimes I have to teach the Delta agent their own rules, TSA isn't any more of a hassle than usual and NC is an Honor Anyone state.

Do not take your gun to Chicago! I seriously doubt you will, in any way, be legal. Let me see if I can find the story about the guy that got busted in New York city. Yea I know different towns, same communist attitude.

If you haven't read this story you should. Hell this is in Maryland and the guy didn't even have a gun with him!

Why go through the hassle of airlines, TSA, and local authorities? Pretty easy to get a gun on the streets of Chicago's south side. (JK, don't go that route).

Seriously, too much hassle. I wouldn't do it for reasons stated in above posts. If you had to use it while there, you will go to prison. Period.

...sigh... I am gunless in Chicago... I hope my revolver isn't too cold back home in my glove box.

I would not take it to Illinois, but, if you do, good luck and be careful.
I strongly support gun control, how else are you going to hit anything?

Trip to South Carolina in June...definitely driving, got the vacation anyway. Flying just doesn't do it for me anymore, and I worry more about lost bags than anything, which we've experienced more than once. Knowing our luck, the one late or lost bag (or case) would be the one with the pistol!

Yep you do realize if they confiscate your weapon in the city of Chicago your chances of getting it back are slim to none. That and your gonna get a whole lot of un-wanted attention in one of the most dangerous cities in the union...lol I wouldn't do it.

Smart move! When I flew to Columbus, OH from Florida I ended up leaving my gun in Florida because I could not get a straight answer from Air Tran coming home. I purchased my tickets from South West, but the return flight was on Air Tran, and Air Tran is not as easy as South West even though they are owned by the same parent company.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.
