I have once again had the brilliant idea to try casting and have started looking at equipment, Furnaces, pots, molds, dippers.
One bullet mold I am very much interested in is the Lee 356-102-1R to be used in my 380 loadings. So then I have to ask, if anyone is casting these would you be willing to part with a few that I could try before spending the money on a mold?
i started powder coating to utillize soft lead . a friend gave me a 150lb sheet of lead that came from under a
bathroom shower . thought if i can coat this stuff i can shoot it . i usually tumble them in a little lee liquid alox also.
not as pretty as commercial stuff
but they shoot just fine at lower velocities . don`t lead either . about 2500
lee tumble lube .45 and 9mm bullets below from yesterday -----------i`ve shot .357`s
at over 1000 fps doing this -------

Cast up 300 of the Lee .312" 185 gr. RN bullets last weekend, cool rainy morning so it wasn't bad this time of year. Got them all powder coated, gas check and size ready to load up in my M44 and M91/30 loads.
Recently picked up two new MP brass molds, one is the .312" 155 gr. HP Hunter which will cast HP or FN bullets, the other is the .357" 125 gr. plain base HP which will cast either penta or round HP or FN bullets. Both molds are 4 cavity and a joy to cast with.
