    early vs newer version 709

In reading up on the 709 I came across info that said the early 709 had two pins thru the frame and new ones used four pins. Is this correct? Any other identifiers(ser# break etc) to identify the newest? Been contemplating one.Thanks.

Some early 709s had extractor issues.I would seek out a recent model. Most recent models have 4 pins.

Can't post pics, sorry. From what I remember seeing is if your looking at the right side of frame(disregard the slide) you will see four knock out pins.2 under rear sight area. One near the take down lever. One above the trigger.
