Plastic Gun Frame Modifications

Hey guys!

Has anyone shaped or modified the frame on their PT 738 or similar? I want to round over the bottom edges of the trigger guard to make it more comfortable against my middle finger.

Also, has anyone modified the front of the trigger guard to allow the weak side trigger finger to land on it rather than overlapping the strong side middle finger? This would move the weak side grip up one finger and would probably make a better shooting grip. Any ideas?

IMO, I wouldn't touch it since it would possibly void the warranty. Then you're stuck with actually paying for repairs should you have to send it back to Taurus. And since they don't sell parts to the public, a gunsmith wouldn't be able to help you.

Dude, it's a Taurus. The warranty is just a sales ploy. You'll never need it. :p

Maybe I should call 'em first...

Not to worry. I have shaped many Polymer pistols to fit my hand better.
You just have to exercise common sense when removing material. I almost always undercut the trigger guard deeper and wider than the factory did. Makes just a skoshe more room for your middle finger.
Never had a problem even when sent in for warranty.
