That's a good-looking piece of hardware MilproGuy. I think I've made up my mind!
It seems clear that the OSS should be the way to go!

You can't beat the OSS. I have the .45 acp model and wish I could find another new one at the price I paid ($327) a little over a year ago. You can't find used ones for that now.. or even find one period! They are fine pistols and it seems no one is selling any used ones, that I can find anyway.

If you can find one, latch on to it.

I have owned both the OSS in .45 and the new 24/7 G2 in .45, and the OSS definitely edges out the G2, for my own personal tastes.

    Both are excellent pistols, however.

I have some sad news. I drove about an hour to get to the gun-shop where the OSS was.
The store owner had mislabeled it... it wasn't a 45apc, it was the 9mm variant.
I stood there in the store and thought about buying it few a while, but i decided against it.
I'm looking for a 45 right now (i already had a few 9mm's and don't really "need" another).

The store owner did take my name however and said he'd give me $25 off my next purchase as an apology, and that he'd be getting some new Taurus guns on his shelves in about 2 weeks.

Hopefully he gets something in 45 this time.

Bummer, but being a .45 snob (not saying you are, but I definitely am! ) I can completely understand!

I'd still look at the 24/7 G2 but I'd also suggest the Sig P250 in .45 acp. It's the Mr Potato Sig, just like my potatohead you can change if from full size to compact to sub compact and also change the calibers. I personally think its a pretty cool firearm.

    @TexasAviator
It's not that I'm a 45 snob. But i was looking for a 45 to complement the handguns i already have.

In handguns i currently i have...
    Ruger M.II - 22LR - target model in SS
    Ruger "single-six" - 22LP - stainless / wood grips
Ruger Super Blackhawk - 44magnum - 7.5 in. barrel in blued steel
    S&W model 14 - 38spl - 8&3/8 in. barrel in blued steel
    KelTec PF9 - 9mm - black/grey
    S&W DV9 - 9mm - SS (but it's beat-to hell)

    I'd like to have a full-sized 45 with more capacity than a 1911, that's all really.

Ideally, I'd like to trade my keltec pf9 and my S&W9mm for some in-store credit on a PT709 and a PT92
