Hello since this is the 24/7 thread I need you folks to try to talk me out of this purchase. I already own a PT 111, PT 140 Millennium Pro and a PT145 Millennium Pro. Ok let me have it.
The .40 caliber version of the OSS is becoming quite rare now and you should buy it, ASAP, if you are ever to have one! Also, you will love it!
What you currently have are concealed carry handguns and you should have a full sized Battle Pistol, such as the .40 24/7 OSS.
I have the 24/7 OSS in .45 ACP. It's been very very accurate and very very reliable!
I could NEVER talk someone out of an OSS in any caliber...I have two, the first in .40 S&W, second in .45 ACP. My .40 and I took Top Shot in a training course last year, over 600 rounds in one morning - I love this gun!
The bucket 'o brass I came home with after that course:
Well you guy's did just exactly what I thought you'd do. You were absolutely no help at all. So I went by the gun store after work and put it in layaway. Thanks for all the help Hey VTB nice pics.
Well I am to late to talk you out of it so I guess you might as well love it. You'll love it I have it in the OSS Tactical .45 and the 24/7 .45 LS pretty much the same.
Congrats!!! I have had the exact same OSS for a year now and have had absolutely no trouble with it. That translates to just over 1000 rounds with no failures whatsoever.
The only thing that I would change on my OSS would be the front sight. The sight is simply too tall and I cannot get used to covering the target with the front sight. I have always been a six o'clock sight shooter, and find that if I forget to cover the target with the front sight I will shoot quite low with my OSS.
Thanks guys I'll post a pic soon. GTO688 I noticed the front sight was kinda tall thanks for the heads up on covering the target. I've also always been a six o'clock shooter. I guess if I don't want to change my ways I can change the front sight. Which just might be easier ( you know old dogs new tricks). Going to strip it down tomorrow give it a good scrubbing then take it out on my backyard range and run some rounds through it
I was actually quite frustrated with the pistol shooting low, until I did some digging on this forum. That is when I was told by another kind hearted soul about covering the target with the front sight. Apparently, this is becoming the norm for combat pistols.
I am looking to find a shorter front sight, or two, to experiment with.
Does anyone out ther have information on front sights of various heights that will fit the OSS?
That one is new to my collection and like so many of you like minded fine folks here said I love it. Liked it so much I now have a 24/7 OSS in 45 in layaway I just can't help myself.
