    PT24/7 G2C 40 S&W First Impressions

Well, after waiting over 2 weeks I finally picked up my 24/7. The first thing I did was dry fire and everything was in order. I then disassembled, cleaned and Frog Lubed that baby up and that was when the trouble began. After re-assembling the trigger failed to reset all the time when dry firing. I took it apart, checked and re-assembled several times but still had the trigger reset issue. I ended up polishing the striker tab to remove the machining marks and polished the trigger bar/striker stop contact point and that not only solved the trigger reset issue but really smoothed out the trigger pull.

As for ergonomics, I like how this feels in my hand. I think I like it a little better than my Ruger SR9C. Take down is easier also without having to depress the ejector and remove the takedown pin (I still love my SR9C though).

I wanted to get it to the range this evening but due to a lightning strike the indoor range was inaccessible so a range report will follow. Here are a couple of picks of the new addition.

It's a beauty. I really went back and forth between the 40 and the 9, deciding on the 9 due to ammo prices and what others are shooting. I also got the full size and often wonder if I would be happier with the compact... though with mine going back to the shop after 2 weeks, I'd be happier with anything right about now

Thanks. I hear you about the trip back to the shop. I thought I was gonna have to do that before a shot was fired! I think I have my issue fixed now but I must admit, after having my TCP being flawless from the get-go I was a little disappointed in the quality control on this 24/7. I hope with the new CEO they will address this. I love the feel of this pistol and I'm not sorry I made this purchase so hopefully she performs like my TCP at the range.

BTW... you'll probably end up with a compact down the road
