TAURUS Introduces the New CURVE

Nov 17, 2014 - 9:59 PM - by BigSkiff

TaurusŪ Introduces the New CURVE™
Reshaping Personal Carry with The Gun You Wear™

FOR RELEASE 11-18-2014

(Miami, FL) – TaurusŪ, the global leader in revolver manufacturing, is redefining the handgun category with its newest introduction. The new, patented CURVE is a body-contoured .380 ACP that changes everything about concealed carry - so comfortable it’s easy to wear - everyday.

Taurus tackled the challenge of designing a concealed carry handgun that is “print-free” as well as comfortable in any position on the body. Building a firearm with a curved grip frame was not an easy task. About the size of today’s smart phones, this little USA manufactured double-action only, semi-auto pistol packs 6+1 rounds in a highly concealable 5.18-inch package. Weighing in at 10.2 ounces, the CURVE combines innovation with functionality for close-quarter, personal security confidence when wearing this pistol. This curved polymer pistol has a carbon steel slide and a stainless steel barrel for increased reliability.

Taurus takes safety seriously and incorporated a loaded chamber indicator as well as integrated the Taurus Security SystemŪ for long term locking storage. Taurus also provides a trigger protector that is fast and easy to deploy with a built-in lanyard for use when using the holster-free belt clip.

Taurus Factory Tour 2

May 02, 2013 - 7:02 PM - by BigSkiff
TAURUS USA REVISITED!

COME WITH THE TA STAFF AND SEE WHAT'S CHANGED IN THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF!

In December of 2011 two members of our staff, Airwrench and myself, were invited to tour the Taurus plant in Miami, FL. We came home from that tour in complete awe of what we had seen and the total commitment of the then new CEO Mark Kresser and his staff. Airwrench and I put together a thread documenting our experience and posted it in the TaurusArmed News Section. A year and a half has passed since that tour and we were once again graciously invited back to Taurus to see how things have progressed and grown since our last visit. It was hard for me to imagine that a company like the one we saw in 2011 was going to be much different or show any significant improvement in just 18 months. I mean come on, it's hard to do that when you're already setting the standard for your industry. Much to my surprise and delight, I couldn't have been more wrong! Taurus USA has grown, expanded, improved, and gotten even better than it was before.

This time there were seven of us that attended; MissKitty, Czechbikr, Rodfair, Daytonaredeye, TexasDeputy, Airwrench and myself. We all took pictures, asked a lot of questions, and are going to do our best to both show and tell you what we saw, and more importantly try and convey the sense of commitment we all felt Taurus has to it's customers. I returned home even more impressed than I was the last time, and the rest of the staff had a similar reaction. If you haven't read the original Taurus Tour thread I would encourage you to read it before you read this one.

The main things that are different this time are the growth of Taurus and the addition of the new brands. Second, is the increase in manpower and machinery since the last time. Third, are the big changes in Customer Service; both those already made, and those about to be added. Fourth, is the story about the impact that the big buying surge has had on Taurus. And finally, we need to acknowledge the commitment Mark Kresser has made to his staff, his company, his customers, and the gun owners of... [Read More]

Taurus International MFG, Inc. Factory Tour

Dec 27, 2011 - 7:48 AM - by BigSkiff

Introduction

A visit to Taurus International in Miami, FL

On December 14th, 2011 two of the TaurusArmend.net moderators were invited to the Taurus International Mfg., Inc. factory in Miami for a tour of the facility. Airwrench and I volunteered to go. I'm not sure exactly what we were expecting but I can tell you that this plant tour far and away exceeded all expectations of what I was prepared to see. The plant is exceptionally well managed, exceptionally well run, and exceptionally clean. The level of professionalism was stellar from the security guard at the front gate right on up to and including the new President and CEO, Mark Kresser. The type of positive attitude we witnessed doesn't happen overnight and it isn't something you can fake. It was genuine and I for one was impressed by it. We were introduced to the staff, sat in on a Question and Answer meeting with the CEO and Industrial Manager, were given a complete tour of the entire operation from manufacturing, to assembly, to test fire, to shipping, to customer service, warranty repair and warehouse. In every area the professionalism was evident. People were smiling, they worked easily with each other and were not uncomfortable having the company President talking to them and looking over their shoulder.

The pictures and narrative's below tell the story of our trip to Taurus. We wanted to pass this along to our members so that you can see some of what we saw. This forum has no affiliation with Taurus International MFG, Inc. We are an independently owned and managed forum comprised of Taurus owners and gun enthusiasts. We have always called things as we see them, and have always tried to be fair and even handed in our assessment of all things related to Taurus, guns and shooting. This trip and the resulting report is no different. Taurus is not an advertiser on this forum as of this writing nor have they ever been. This trip was initiated by the owners of this forum in an effort to give you, the members, a better look at how some of our... [Read More]
