I am thinking that the Rossi Matched Pair in .243/12 gauge might be my next long arm purchase. However, I am also looking at the new Rossi Wizard, and I am wondering if there is any reason to buy it over the "regular" matched pair? As I checked prices, it looks like I can get the matched pair for about the same price as a Wizard with only one barrel.......

HE thinks, therefore I am! <><
Not much can go wrong with this time proven single shot break action design.
Probably at least one on every farm and ranch in America not to mention their respective "work trucks" or tractors.
Money wise the "Matched Pair" is the way to go.
I think you'll be pleased with that decision.![]()
NULLI SECUNDUS
Wouldn't be a bad bug-out bag addition either(depending on its size) - I have no idea how big it is broken down, but the dual barrels cover a lot of game animals.

Have the 22rimfire/410 and have owned and/or shot the .357,.223 and.243. With the bullets they like they are accurate little hunting guns.they are equal to the H&R handi rifles.
You might also look at the Combo, there are several. A couple of them have black powder barrels as well. My wife has a youth combo with .243, 20ga, and .22 barrels. The rifles are pretty accurate and fun to shoot. The .243 doesn't eject cases, it extracts them, but it beats having to chase brass down.

How's the muzzleloader? I'm really looking into the .50 cal and the .243 set, but the .22 and 20 gauge would be nice. I already have a Mossberg 500 field/security combo (if anyone's looking for a good shotgun I would highly recommend it) so a 20 gauge sounds good to. Can the muzzleloader take a big ass load alright or would it not be a good idea? Like an Elk load, we got big boys here in Washington, does Rossi make a .54 cal muzzleloader?
Thanks for your time
I don't know the specs for the muzzleloader, but I'm sure someone on here might know. It is a .50 cal and it looks like the cap/primer goes on the end of the barrel as it is a break open. The shotgun barrel that comes in this set is a 12 guage, with a .243. Check the Rossi USA website for the different combos and specs.

i have the combo 22lr 20ga 243win, very nice gun in terms of quality and reliability...
Huh. They have a pistol now too. Now if they'd make a .243 barrel for the pistol....
