Great looking rifle! Congrats!![]()
I picked up this model 62 sac at my favorite local gun store today. It is quite pretty and very unique(to me anyway).I could'nt decode the serial number on Rossi's site but will call when I remember to.
.22 s-l-lr
16" barrel and 33" overall length.
It will make a great rifle for my young son when he is older and could be very usefull at close range with its small size.
Here it is with the 607 I picked up today as well.

I've had a Rossi M-62 16" take down .22 carbine since the mid 1980's; I've lost count of the bricks of .22 ammo put down range.
It was originally bought for my sons to learn on, and now their son's are getting the same training on the same gun.
With a modicum of care they'll last many generations.

My M62 is at the gunsmith right now getting fixed. It took a saltwater bath due to Hurricane Ike in 2008. I sprayed it with wd40, wraped it in a garbage bag and put in in my attic till last week (I forgot about it). Luckly the action still worked and the the trigger still fired. Only thing froze up was the magazine tube. It was a real mess looking tho. Gunsmith said it was savable. I am glad since they are not made anymore.
My Rossi 62 was my first rifle, given to me by my Grandfather.
In 28 year I have more ammo than I can count through it. Looks like you found a great one, I am sure it will provide you with many fun times.
Ive got one of them, had it so long can't remember when I got it. I would get rid of all my guns before I would it.
