Rossi .22 pump rifle

My BIL just picked up a Rossi .22 pump from a guy that needed the money. I am assuming it is a model 62. Lucky guy got it for $125 and it is in great shape. Anyone got one of these and would like to comment? I'd love to get one of these guns. It is very light and seems to be well built. Seem like a great pack/squirrel/plink.. er.. all-around gun.

Also, what happened to these guns. I looked a little on the forum and found that they were discontinued a couple of years ago. Seems a shame. I also heard the Henry made a similar pump. Any other good pumps like it? I really like the Wich 1893 design.

I have both a Rossi and Taurus 22 Pump rifles. I love them them, shoot and shoot and are fun. I have never had a problem with either weapon.. Just shoot it and enjoy..

Our family, I gave it to my oldest son, has the Rossi Gallery shorter version I traded from a Gun Shop owner on a real estate deal back in 1982. He was 11 at the time and we hunted a virgin prairie dog town (one that had never been hunted). We were on a 4 wheeler and bagged over 40 that day. The prairie poodles finally figured out that bang meant a brother or sister had died. The next day we only got 12.

I really like the rifles, and I'm sure you will enjoy yours. I waited around too long and missed out on the .22 magnum version. For rimfire, I prefer the pump to a lever action.

Bought mine almost 30 years ago, built like a bank vault, fun, and accurate to boot.

Even after all these years and tons of .22 lead gone down range it looks good.

With a modicum of care, they'll last several generations.

Seems a shame they stopped production.
