Again, not one person has had anything bad to say about the gap blast, so it couldn't possibly be as bad as it looks :P .

And considering how prolific it's become (it's in every local gun shop, including even Walmart!!!), there have to be LOTs of people out there shooting them.

Of course, a video like this could scare off anybody. Makes one wonder how our fingers survive for being so close to the fireball.

And for added fear factor. An overloaded ammo condition. Probably a double charge, since the bullet still makes it out of the barrel.

Did they redesign the blast shield??? I want to swear the first time I saw this rifle/shotgun it had a very different blast shield.

Actually, I found that faster than I thought I would... This was the one I saw. It would appear to redirect the blast right back at you. Perhaps this was an early prototype that they didn't bring to market?

It's a trick... Get an axe...

I really don't care much for revolving carbines since that guy Henry invented the gun that you could load on Monday and shoot all week. I love my revolving pistols, but carbines? Nah.

Where'd you find that photo? I've never seen that version of blast shield.

Google'ed it up. That is the first design I ever saw for it and the reason for my concern. I was unaware of the new redesign and thought they were still like the pic I posted. The new one clearly vents up and away from the shooter. It looks much better.

Perhaps it is the prototype blast shield. I hope whoever tested it was wearing a welder's mask.
