I have it in .223. Hit a bullseye at 200 yards, so I'm happy.
Anyone have any opinions on this single shot rifle? Looking to get my son a youth model rifle for deer hunting, and Academy has them for a pretty decent price, just wasn't familiar with them.

I bought my daughter the Tri-Fecta in .22/.243/20ga. It is as accurate as the shooter. It does have more recoil than the bolt action .243's, maybe due to the lack of mass.
When I was researching these rifles, the trend I noticed was that almost everyone was extremely pleased with their .223 versions, but the .243s were a little less consistent from rifle to rifle. No idea what could cause that, and of course it's the internet so take it with a grain of salt. However, for a simple hunting gun I think it should be just fine. I mean, seems like as long as it will do a couple MOA it should be just fine as a hunting gun.
I have a Rossi single shot shotgun that I like pretty well. I wouldn't have any problem buying a centerfire rifle from them.

Oh, I should clarify that I just meant accuracy. It seemed the .223s were almost universally accurate with just about any decent ammo, but the .243s seemed less consistent. I remember a lot of people saying it would barely shoot with anything except one pet load.
I'm curious about peoples accuracy experiences also. I bought my oldest son the 243/20ga combo earlier this year (this will be his first year deer hunting).
Haven't scoped it yet, not sure what I think about the un-iron sights that it came with.
I do like the ease of barrel change, and the hollow buttstock could lend itself to a good survival/SHTF gun. Like the carrying case too.

I'm looking at the 223 .
The basic rifle/shotgun design has been around for a lot of years. Each manufacturer has it's own little "add on" touches, but the technology is tried and true. As far as accuracy goes, I would recommend trying out several different brands of ammo as you break in the barrel. Just pick out the most accurate as your hunting ammo.
I've also thought about the Rossi .22/.243 combo for my grandkids.

Stock up on ammo. We'll have to save ourselves from those who want to save the world.
