I never gave this much thought until I saw your post. I got curious and Googled a little. I came up with everything from 1:16 to 1:40, and some odd balls in between. I still don't know for sure, but mine shoots sweet, whatever the real twist is.

Rate of twist
Does anyone know the rate of twist in the rifling of a 44 mag and also a 45 colt model 92 rossi?
