I saw that too. Pretty neat. I don't think it has much practicality, other than it could be a lot of fun.
Just got My issue of American Rifleman and what I saw on the cover made Me drool.
The New Rossi Ranch Hand lever action Pistol, 12" barrel and short stock in 38/357, 44mag and 45colt, even though it is manufactured as a Pistol, it still looks like and has the action of a Rifle.
Rossi is saying November or December 2010 before it's available, I can't wait to see one in the stores, just hoping the price isn't too steep.
Hoping to score one in 38/357.

Rossi has a much better price on theirs than what I saw a while back on a special edition Winchester "Mares Leg", if I recall correctly those were priced around 12 to 15 hundred dollars.
I agree with you Smokewagon in that I don't see a real practical use unless you are into the "B" westerns and the western progtrams of the 50's on TV. I know that I thought that the one used in the TV series "Bounty Hunter" was sort of "COOL", especially with the holster they had for it!
The Government is not the cure, it is the disease!
Now thats a Alaskan / Moose bear gun.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. .... with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship."
Now, I think I might want one.![]()

It appears you could contrort to shoot that thing from a shoulder. It would be a poor fit, but it might be more accurate that way. A gun you can fit in your saddle bags and shoot almost like a rifle and it's legal.

A while back I bought a Puma 45LC carbine with a 16" barrel. I bought it mainly because I thought it would make a good gun to carry in a backpack while hiking. The "Ranch Hand" would work even better for that purpose. Stow it in a short scabbard on the side of the pack and you've got it with you if you need it. It would make a good tool for a Bug Out Bag!

'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.' Thomas Jefferson
