It should take anything the Ruger will take in a safe load.

I was looking at double tap and buffalo bore .45 colt ammo and it says it's safe for modern 1892's and I was wondering if this included the rossi clone. I looked at one yesterday with a 16" barrel. I've always wanted a "trapper" lever action and I already have a ruger blackhawk .45(hence the hot loads)

cool. I was really impressed with how smooth the action was and how light and compact it was. I had almost put the idea of getting one out of my mind since I already have like 4 truck/woods carbines but it's just such a slick little gun

I have a 20" octagonal barreled M92, and wouldn't hesitate for a minute about using .45 Colt +P. These are rugged little rifles.

thanks for the reports guys. the only other question: what are my options for upgrading the sights?
while most people ask why, I ask why not.
The rear sights are a little cheesy, but function very well on my rifle. There are options for replacement from what I've read in the past, but I haven't persued them yet. I probably will eventually just for the improved appearance I think I'll gain. One that comes to mind is Marble's sights, if I recall correctly.

+1 on the Marbles, but expect sticker shock. I believe Williams makes a set as well.

I ordered the marbles Ghost Ring from Steve'sGunz. He has several options on his website. Even a Skinner style that replaces the POS safety.

Ghost ring is the way to go on these rifles.I got mine off an old .22, fits in the dove tail, and works very well.

Yes, it's absolutely safe in your rifle. I shoot a LOT of "Ruger Only" loads in mine. It will put a nice bruise on your shoulder, though. Odd that I can shoot a cuppla hundred shells through my 12 gauge and the shoulder gets just a little soreness that's gone by the next day.
A 255 grain .45 Colt at 1750+ fps outta that little rifle hits hard on BOTH ends. Folks see me shooting it at our outdoor range and come ask about it. I'll load 'em up a tube and hand it to 'em. Very few will shoot the whole tube, they shoot two or three rounds then hand it back to me, say thanks, that's a nice gun; then walk away mumbling to themselves.
Ah, and I agree on the sights. I had the Williams reciever sight installed on mine. Very accurate at 100 yards.
If'n it ain't broke, then it don't need fixin'
