    Taurus/Rossi 30-30 Lever?

    Gunner here-

Was over at Gunblast, and Mr. Quinn mentioned a rumor of a 92 coming in 30-30! Anyone have any more info on this....I'm salivating, here.

Those must be out in .30-30 already and been so for awhile. Bud's Gun Shop and Impact Guns both say out of stock.

Figures. After going to the Rossi site, www.rossiusa.com/product-list.cfm?category=8 ,
there is nothing that shows a .30-30 version.

There is a whole new list of revolver calibers and models Rossi has added to the line, but no mention of .30-30.
    Odd, but ther it is.

Well, I see you found your .30-30.

Since the Winchester died, there's a market I'd think. Of course, it competes with the Marlin, which is a good gun and well established. I always thought the old M94 was a handier rifle, though, even if a little less adaptable to a scope.

Hmm, interesting, not a 94, more a Marlin. Seems to be its own design. Neat!

    Re: Taurus/Rossi 30-30 Lever?

    Yeah-

But when I checked around that site (and web) for it, it seems to be in 'ghost' status, right now-like many brand-new firearms tend to be. I agree with both comments, about the Marlin, and the Winchester. There's just something 'bulky' (besides price) about the 336 I've never liked, compared to the 92. If (when) I get one, I need it to be in either stainless or nickle (multiple reasons) as well-which doesn't help the $ issue, I know.

To be completely honest, I'd choose the Mossberg over the Rossi/Taurus, if I could get it in that finish/configuration. Highly doubt they'll ever build it in anything but blue.

Thanks to all on this thread-

The Rossi 30-30 looks just like a Marlin 336, but without the bulkier fore end.

    Re: Taurus/Rossi 30-30 Lever?

iam guessing here but i wouldnt be surprised if taurus bought into marlin ? marlin has been sold a few times last i knrw they were oened by H&R who then sold them and themselves to remington, whos all owned by a larger company i cant rememberthe name of it starts with a C cambrera? or something like that , whos owns a lot of other gun manuf. and also i think they owned chrysler?

updated , found what i was talking about the name of the company is cerberus
Firearms - Acquired Bushmaster Firearms, Inc., from Windham, Maine native Dick Dyke for an undisclosed sum in April 2006, and purchased Remington Arms in April 2007. Under Cerberus direction, Bushmaster Firearms acquired Cobb Manufacturing, a well-respected manufacturer of large-caliber tactical rifles in August 2007. Cerberus also acquired DPMS Panther Arms December 14, 2007.[23][24] Remington Arms acquired Marlin Firearms in January 2008.[25][26] In October 2009, Remington Military products acquired silencer manufacturer Advanced Armament Corporation.[

    Re: Taurus/Rossi 30-30 Lever?

I doubt Rossi/Taurus has anything going with Marlin.

I like the camo, less traditional, but neat for the woods hunter. But, then, I'm always a sucker for camo.
