Anybody have a Taurus 63

I'm new here and was surprised there wasn't a thread on the Model 63. My Uncle has an origanal Winchester that I used to love to shoot when I was a kid,and when Taurus came out with theirs I had to get one. It is a great little 22lr,and it shoots as well as the Winchester. I wish I could find one in stainless,mine is blued. Like most 22's it is picky about ammo,and doesn't like the bulk box ammo much. I wish Taurus didn't discontinue making their 22's,they are well made and I know several people that have them.

Hey, I got a stainless one for $200 at a gun show back in 2006. Great design [John Browning's 1903/63] shoot well and is a gun well worth the fun it gives back. The blue gun is more in line with the original guns. I messed up at the time I got mine, the guy had a pump .22 mag in stainless as well for $200. wow, that was nice too. I'm still wanting the .22 mag in an auto, .22 mag in the model 63...I'm dreaming.

Taurus never made a .22 mag in auto. Several companies, including Ruger have made models of 22 mag, and they seem to be problematic and need fairly constant rebuilding and beefing up. The Taurus 73 was the same Winchester design as the Model 62 in the Pump, only .22 mag. I have one located new for $349.00 and want it if not bought before I have the spare money.

I have one and I love it. My two boys love to shoot it and it was one of the most accurate 22 rifles I have ever fired. I bought mine on clearance at Big Five Sporting goods. It was the last one and I got it for $200.
